Rescue, care, and release of wildlife in the Balearic Islands<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

We collaborate actively with COFIB, the reference center in the Balearics for the care of injured, sick, or orphaned wildlife<\/b> (such as turtles, birds of prey, hedgehogs, etc.). Our team of veterinarians and specialists works tirelessly to rehabilitate these animals<\/b> and, whenever possible, return them to their natural habitat. Additionally, we act in the control of invasive exotic species<\/b> that threaten our delicate ecosystems.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Consortium for the Recovery of Wildlife of the Balearic Islands<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

COFIB was founded in 2004 as a result of the union between the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands (Department of Environment, Agriculture, and Fisheries) and the Natura Parc Foundation. Since then, we have grown to become the central axis of animal care in the archipelago.<\/p>

Since 2012, we have coordinated wildlife recovery actions not only in Mallorca but also in Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera, collaborating with specialized entities. In addition, we manage the care of sea turtles and cetaceans that appear stranded on our coastline. Thanks to this regional network, centers in the Balearic Islands manage to treat around 5,000 specimens of wildlife each year.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

We have a specialized team dedicated to minimizing the impact of exotic species on the biodiversity of our fragile island ecosystems. Additionally, this team conducts health sampling in wildlife to detect and prevent pathologies that could affect both wild and domestic species.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Bank of Insular Species Remains (BREI)<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Since 2010, COFIB has maintained and managed this important bank of biological remains from wild species of the Balearics.
