CEPAD Town Council Network

We believe that animal protection is a shared responsibility. Through CEPAD, we establish strategic alliances with various town councils in Mallorca to comprehensively manage the welfare of domestic animals in their municipalities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Due to the large increase in calls requesting information, we kindly ask you to consult our Frequently Asked Questions section before calling.

How does Dog Adoption work?

It is important to first check the DOGS tab, where you will find photos and information for each dog at CEPAD with their reference number. To reserve a dog or visit them, please contact us (phone 871 719 772) to check if the animal is available. If an animal is marked as RESERVED, it means one or more people have already expressed interest in adopting them after the legal period. When adopting a dog, they must be microchipped, issued a passport, and vaccinated against rabies. They must also be sterilized at our center. Prices are listed in the RATES tab. At the time of adoption, fees must be paid and an appointment for neutering will be scheduled (the animal must arrive fasting). In the case of PPP (Potentially Dangerous Dogs), the corresponding license must be presented.

It is important to first check the CATS tab, where you will find photos and information for each cat at CEPAD with their reference number. Call 871 719 772 to inquire about availability or to reserve them. If the animal has adoption requests, it means there are already interested parties. When adopting a cat, they will be microchipped and issued a passport. They must also be sterilized at our center. At the time of adoption, the total fees must be paid (see RATES tab) and an appointment for neutering will be scheduled (the animal must arrive fasting).

  • There is currently a waiting list for those wishing to adopt horses, donkeys, and ponies. To adopt such an animal, it must be microchipped and issued a passport. Additionally, the property where the animal will stay must be registered with the Livestock Holdings Registry (REGA). If you wish to join this list, please email us at cepad@cepad.es specifying the type of animal you desire along with your contact information (name and phone number).

  •

In the event of finding a lost animal, you must notify the LOCAL POLICE of the municipality where it was found. If necessary, they will contact our technicians to proceed with collection. CEPAD – Fundació Natura Parc CANNOT directly remove a lost animal without a prior request from the corresponding municipality.

If you are the owner of an animal housed at CEPAD:

  1. Notify us at 871 719 772.

  2. Go to the town hall where it was collected to pay the municipal fee and request collection authorization. Bring the animal’s passport.

  3. For Potentially Dangerous Dogs (PPP), we WILL NOT release the dog without town hall authorization and a PPP ownership license.

  4. With all documentation, request an appointment for pickup at CEPAD. We will check if they are vaccinated against rabies; if not, we will vaccinate them at the center. The owner must cover maintenance and vaccination costs.

If you wish to surrender an animal, you must request an appointment at 871 719 772 to bring them to the center, PROVIDED WE HAVE SPACE TO HOUSE THEM. The surrender fee is €250 (dogs and cats) and the owner must fill out a surrender document and provide a copy of their ID/Passport.

Volunteers are only accepted during morning shifts (11:00 to 13:00) and afternoon shifts (15:00 to 17:00). Instructions:

  1. Request an appointment at 871 719 772.

  2. On the first day, you must fill out the volunteer form and the data protection document.

  3. Sign the log with entry and exit times each day.

Note: Only volunteers with a PPP license may walk dogs considered potentially dangerous.

The only social media channels with direct information from CEPAD are the Fundació Natura Parc Instagram and Facebook.
